Stefan Sagmeister

Stefan Sagmeister was a graphic designer that focused on Typography. He also designed album covers for famous bands like Lou Reed, the Rolling Stones, David Byrne, Aerosmith and Pat Metheny.

Its kind of funny because when he had to look for fonts he was bored with them when he had to flip through them and now he is creating fonts for people that will last forever.

The image above was done by cutting all of the type onto Sagmeister's own body with an X-Acto knife, the photographic it.

Photography

I just got out of my photography class and we explored the photos from all over. We mostly focused on Dorothea Lange's "Migrant Mother". We discussed how you can see her emotion in her face, and the clothing that she wears shows her poverty level/social class. The image is powerful and it really shows her desperation.

Candidates

The election is coming and the deadline is nearing for us all. Many things are going through my mind about who to choose and why I should choose them. The candidates have great aspirations for our country, but the big question is....who should I chose. I guess I'll sleep on it.

Drive Time

The weekend is coming and we are headed to Arizona for a long overdue drive. We are going to visit family and spend some quality time together. Can't Wait!!

Rainy Days Beauty

Today the rain brought on a a beautiful view from our house and from our work window, a huge rainbow from end to end. The view was spectacular and one of a kind. I wish I had my camera with me at the time and that I wasn't in such a hurry to start my day. It's not often that we get to stop and enjoy the scenery anymore.

David Carson

David Carson is a well know typographer and shows it in his works. He helped people to be able to look beyond the grid lines and push the envelope a little bit. He talked about the energy of the text and that the words don't express the meaning, that the message comes from what is made.

As a local artist David Carson brought on a new look into typography and the expression of the media. He is a creative artist that makes that specific industry evolve into a new distinctive design era.
